**Spaces are limited to ensure hands-on guidance for every child.** Step into the warmth of a traditional Mexican kitchen this holiday season! In this vibrant, hands-on cooking workshop, young chefs will discover the joy of the Tamalada—the traditional family gathering where loved ones come together to make holiday tamales. As we spread the masa and fold our corn husks, students will embark on a cultural journey to learn about the rich traditions of a Mexican Christmas (Las Posadas), the story of the poinsettia, and how families celebrate with food, music, and community. On the Menu: Tamales (sweet and savory) Mexican Hot Chocolate Kids will learn how to prepare corn husks, spread flavorful masa dough, and stuff their tamales with delicious fillings. They will practice the traditional folding methods used to wrap tamales perfectly before they head to the steamer. While the tamales steam, we will share stories about Las Posadas, traditional piñatas, and holiday music. Mexican Hot Chocolate: To celebrate our hard work, students will whip up a cozy batch of traditional Mexican hot chocolate spiced with cinnamon. Students will eat a warm tamale during class and leave with a Holiday Tamale Pack containing 4 handmade, pre-steamed tamales to share with family at home! They will also bring home a recipe card so they can start their own family Tamalada tradition. Spaces are limited to ensure hands-on guidance for every child.
