The Bearded ladies

Le Petit School of Cooking welcomes Melanie Shelton and Jordan Marsicek, the pair behind Olympia’s own Bearded Lady Food Co. They’re bringing the Bearded Ladies to our kitchen for adult cooking and baking classes, along with the welcoming spirit and sense of fun that longtime customers remember.​

Melanie and Jordan bring years of experience in professional kitchens and as educators at South Puget Sound Community College. Through demonstrations, practice, and individual guidance, they help learners understand techniques, develop their judgment, and build confidence in the kitchen. They’re excited to share their love of baking and cooking through classes open to the community, welcoming longtime customers and people getting to know them for the first time.

During their classes, you can look forward to practical techniques, clear explanations, and a relaxed atmosphere where questions are welcome. You’ll learn what to look for, why a technique works, and how to adjust when things don’t go quite as planned—with room to experiment and enjoy yourself along the way.
